J15 65469

No.65469 was one of Norwich shedmaster Bill Harvey’s specials, receiving a stovepipe chimney fashioned in the old Great Eastern style, vermilion coupling rods, and a cream cab interior in May 1960. The tender fitted at this time was at least twenty years older than the engine and had been taken from a withdrawn loco in 1959 as 65469’s own had become life-expired. With this change the loco became one of the few examples to regress in livery style from the 1957 crest back to the 1949 emblem.
