GER R24 No.414

One of James Holden’s shunting Buckjumpers of 1891, no.414 almost lasted until the end of steam on GE lines, being withdrawn in 1961. It is represented here after its first rebuild in 1901.

While I was able to utilise a few etches from the old Connoisseur J67, it’s largely scratchbuilt including the cab.  The model has AGH wheels and the drive is through an ABC gearbox. Figures are from Pete Armstrong’s range and were supplied to me already painted.

  1. Thanks for that Ian – much appreciated. I have to admit though that the figures were supplied to me by my client pre-painted.

They are fantastic, though aren’t they? Railway figures are often either painted roughly with a shiny finish, or over-painted caricatures like many fantasy models. This pair are just right and add to the overall effect, rather than detracting from it.
