Finally I have power, light and heating in my new workshop, so I’ll be spending the next week or so organising it, buying new tools and generally settling in. I’ve updated the Locos, Carriages and Wagons pages with a mixture of models, most of which had been sitting in secure storage for months. There’s still an awful lot of work to be done on the house, only one room has been finished, many are being worked on, and three have yet to be started, so it’s still a very hectic time!

Thanks for the continued messages of support. Many rooms have been stripped back to brick and concrete, with timber frames removed, and the work of restoration is well underway, although some rooms have yet to be started. My new workshop will be ready soon, so I hope to start up again early October. My priority will be to clear the backlog and I hope to be in a position to begin taking new orders at the start of the New Year.

Thanks for all the messages of support over the last four months, and I’m particularly grateful for the patience of my clients whose models have been put on hold pro temp. The latest news is that the floors in the affected rooms have been ripped out and dryers/dehumidifiers installed, but we now have secondary damage to parts of the house not caught in the flood which needs to be addressed. Once all the affected rooms have been declared dry and a certificate issued, the walls will be stripped back to the brickwork and the process of restoration will begin, but at the moment we have no indication of when that will be. I’m still without a workshop, hopefully to be resolved very soon, and in consequence my order book remains closed until I’m back up and running.

Following a serious flood during the recent storms which not only caused extensive damage to our house, but wrote off my workshop and everything in it, I’ve decided to temporarily stop accepting new commissions. This will give me a chance to make good the damage, install a new workshop and complete the commissions which have been put on hold.
